My name is Allison Casey.
I care about web content.
The words. The images. How it’s found. How it’s organized. How it’s managed. Its usability and usefulness.
And mostly, why it matters. Why the users should care at all. Beyond that, I care about delighting users with the right features and the right content—at the right time.
Ultimately, I care about the content strategy.
While many blogs focus on how not to suck, I prefer to focus on how to delight. Read more about delighting instead of not sucking.
My work
In my day job, I work on consumer-focused websites for the federal government. In addition to regular static sites, I write blogs, manage Facebook pages, and use and explore many other tools that align with our communication goals.
More generally, I am always working to find out what users want, what they need, how to help them, how best to reach them, and how to provide a delightful experience.
My Education
I have a bachelor’s degree in Scientific and Technical Communication from the University of Minnesota and a master’s degree in Technology in Education from Harvard University.
I’m one of those people who would have stayed in school forever, if I could have. The web is the perfect place for me because there are so many opportunities to learn every day. I hope this blog will be one of them.
